Sustainability at Perfect Stranger
Thoughtful choices. Considered progress.
At Perfect Stranger, sustainability is about making informed decisions at every stage of our brand. From the fibres we choose, to how our garments are made, packed and delivered. We know there is always more to do, and we’re committed to continuous improvement as we evolve.
OUR TARGETS
Perfect Stranger adopted a set of sustainability targets aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals to provide direction and guidance to our teams and partners.
Our approach to preferred fibres
The materials we select play a critical role in reducing the environmental impact of our collections. We work closely with certified suppliers across our supply chain to ensure greater transparency and integrity in the fibres used in our garments.
Where possible, we prioritise certified and verified materials, giving customers confidence in the organic or recycled content of the products they choose.
- Organic cotton
- Recycled cotton
- Better-practice viscose fibres such as TENCEL™, LENZING™ ECOVERO™, and FSC-certified viscose
- Recycled polyester
- Recycled polyamide
- 50% of cotton to be sourced from certified suppliers by 2028
- 50% of synthetics to be sourced from certified suppliers by 2030
Product certification
Perfect Stranger is certified to the Organic Content Standard (OCS) and the Global Recycled Standard (GRS). These certifications verify organic and recycled material from fibre source through to the final product, providing credible assurance behind our material claims.
We are also a proud member of Seamless, Australia’s first national clothing stewardship scheme. Through Seamless, we take responsibility for the lifecycle of our garments. From design and durability through to reuse, recycling and end-of-life, supporting a more circular fashion system.

ANIMAL FRIENDLY
Perfect Stranger firmly believes animals must not suffer for fashion. We are committed to investigate the raw materials used in products we stock and take steps to procure responsibly harvested and certified animal products. Animal products are rarely used in our range, when we do we will only stock products that meet the principles of our animal welfare policy.
Our Animal Welfare policy is based on international standards and the widely accepted Five Freedoms for animal welfare. The policy also states our expectations and bans the use of certain materials that are often produced in questionable conditions.
Packaging
Reducing waste where it matters
We’re actively reducing unnecessary packaging and choosing materials that are easier to recycle.
- Our online mailers are made from 100% certified recycled plastic (NoIssue).
- Product swing tags and labels are produced using recycled materials and feature the Australasian Recycling Label (ARL) to help customers recycle correctly at home.
- Within our distribution centre, transit boxes are reused for store fulfilment, and infrastructure is in place to optimise waste sorting and recycling, including cardboard and clear soft plastics.
Operations
Lower-impact day-to-day practices
Our operational footprint matters, and we’re focused on practical actions that reduce energy use and waste.
- Our office and distribution centre operate on 100% renewable electricity - approximately 30% from onsite solar, with the remainder sourced through Australian Government-accredited GreenPower certificates.
- Office spaces are equipped with state-of-the-art recycling facilities, making waste separation easy for our team.
- We hold sample sales and provide textile recycling options for team members to help divert textiles from landfill.
Our Makers
Ethical sourcing and long-term partnerships
We believe responsible fashion starts with the people who make our garments.
A significant portion of our collection is produced by our long-term manufacturing partner based in Jiangsu, China. The facility currently employs 66 skilled garment workers and specialises in soft woven styles, including dresses, blouses, shorts and shirts.
This factory has been a trusted production partner since October 2019, chosen for its strong workmanship, attention to detail and commitment to quality. The facility uses digital cutting tables to improve production efficiency and places a strong focus on fabric sourcing and development, including yarn-dyed and printed fabrics.
Our Jiangsu factory holds a valid BSCI social factory audit, confirming that no young workers are employed, with the youngest employee currently aged 36.
Over the past year, we’ve worked closely with our supplier on issues raised during their last audit to help improve building and safety requirements and ensure regulatory compliance.
Looking ahead
We know sustainability is a journey, not a destination. As Perfect Stranger grows, we will continue to refine our materials, processes and partnerships - prioritising transparency, accountability and thoughtful progress.
